What to Expect
On this tour, you will be given the opportunity to wander through the wide Saharan Desert and experience the rocky mountains and beautiful gardens that separate the desert from Marrakech. You will travel across the High Atlas and the Tizi-n-Tichka, stopping over at Ouarzazate before continuing to Todra Gorge and all of it’s wonderful lush flora. You will also travel through the city of Tinghir and the Valley of 1000 Kasbahs, with an opportunity to take a guided tour through the local palmeraie before continuing to Merzouga. Here, at the food of the Erg Chebbi dune, you will ride your camels into the desert towards a small Berber village. You will eat the local food, an authentic taste of Morocco, and sleep in traditional tents of canvas. You will also watch the incredible colours of the sunrise the following morning across the desert before departing Merzouga, again travelling back through Ouarzazate via the stony plains of Alnif and Tazarine and the mountainous High Atlas towards Marrakech.
