This short escape tour takes you through some of country’s most famous and varied cities, allowing you to experience the local produce and the way the tastes differ. Your time will also be spent in a smaller Berber village, eating with the families and learning to prepare some traditional meals in ways that cannot be learnt from cookbooks. This tour will expose you to Moroccan culture, food and people like no other. As long as we have at least two people booked, it will take place. Day 1: Marrakech
Arrive Marrakech, depending on your time of arrival you will have the afternoon/evening to explore the wonders of Marrakech. Visit the Jemaa El Fna Square, the Old Medina, the Koutoubia Minaret, the Bahia Palace, the Majorelle Botanical Gardens, the ruins of Elbadi Palace where you can see the tanners and dyers quarters, join the hustle and bustle and bargain in the souks or if you just want to sit back and get orientated, take a position in one of the many cafe’s & restaurants that border the main square and observe the madness beyond.

You can look out for a note in the lobby of the hotel or ask the hotel staff about the location of this meeting. If you are unable to find a flight that can help you reach the hotel before 6pm, you can arrive a day early to ensure that you don’t miss the meeting. Day 2: Atlas Mountains
A short drive takes us into the towering High Atlas Mountains to the village of Asni, sits in the foothills of the High Atlas mountains. It’s soft rock, shaped over millennia by wind and rain, provide a beautiful setting to the Berber villages that line the rivers and perched on a great rocky outcrop we have an incredible sight to appreciate from our terrace: views of North Africa’s highest peak – Mount Toubkal. We have the rest of the day to explore the village and surrounding farmlands. Depending on the energy levels of the group.

Day 3: Atlas Mountains
The High Atlas Mountain region offers a wide variety of trekking options and is suitable for visitors of all ages. For those unable to meet the physical demands of a challenging trek with equipment, mule support can be provided. Your experienced guide will accompany you as you explore the trails, providing historical insights about the region and pointing out sights of interest. After few hours exploring the High Atlas Mountains, The walk will last around four hours in total and can be adapted based upon the group’s fitness, their interest and local weather conditions. The rest of the afternoon free to spend by the hotel pool or relax in the gardens overlooked by the Atlas Mountains.

Day 4: Essaouira
After breakfast depart for the beautiful old Portuguese port of Essaouira on the Atlantic Coast. Explore this white- washed city famous for its woodwork shops or head to the beach for a stroll or horse or camel ride. Relax at the numerous cafes that line the main square and visit the fish market and sample the freshest fish in Morocco. The pace of life is much calmer in Essaouira and it is a perfect place to relax. Spend the night in a beautiful riad within the walled city with fantastic views from the rooftop terrace.

Day 5: Essaouira
Spend the day in this relaxing environment and explore at your own leisure. Everything in the medina is within walking distance and the beach is clean. Wander the harbour and its adjacent fish markets where you can witness the daily auction. A freshly-cooked plate of the day’s catch is highly recommended. Browse the plentiful shops and intriguing art galleries that make this little town a particularly pleasant place to unwind for a few days. It has a growing reputation for its unique art and is becoming even more famous for its burled Thuya wood – delicately formed and inlaid in tiny shops, which are built into the thick walls of the Portuguese ramparts. The scent from the oils used to polish the richly coloured wood permeates the air and makes walking down the streets incredibly pleasant. Essaouira is a shopper’s haven! Visit the shops and check out the many different wares you can bring home as souvenirs, from Thuya wood to leather goods, textile, Moroccan lanterns, scarves and slippers, etc. Or you may opt to check out the local artists’ and silversmiths’ shops for some silver jewelry and trinkets. There are many colourful shops lining the winding streets of Essaouira, try not to get lost or overwhelmed by the variety of items to choose from.

Day 6: Marrakech
After breakfast we depart for Marrakech, On arrival, meet with a local guide and head off to the old medina through an early voyage. Our visit is at the excellent Bahia Palace, an amazing manor fabricated in way back to 1866. It was a haven of ex-slaves who had ascended to positions prominence in the management of Moulay Hassan. Our investigation leads as to the peaceful internal patios, filled with the fragrance of orange bloom, and the numerous abolition spots and salons that incorporate a homely and rich abode. This is before heading back to the Djemaa El Fna. The remnants of the day is marked by further prodding the streets and leisure shopping in the bazaars.

This is your last day to explore the red city. Start your day by checking out the Djemaa el Fna Square once again. Finalize your souvenir shopping in the souks, and proceed to the other parts of town that you may not have visited yet. You have one full day to soak in the sights, the sounds, the food and the vibe of Marrakech.

Day 8: Depart Marrakech
The trip ends after breakfast at our hotel in Marrakech. There are no activities planned today, so you are free to depart from Marrakech at any time.
