Our Story
Each of us involved with Morocco Getaway started off in a humble way, working for a major international tourism group that operated in our home country of Morocco for many years. We were tour guides, drivers and planners. We were deeply in love with our country and we loved sharing it with people from across the world. However, we were concerned about lack of understanding about Morocco; a lack of knowledge about it’s people, it’s culture, it’s variety and it’s colour. We saw this not only in the company we worked for, but in all tour companies internationally. Rather than trying to improve the company we worked for, we decided we would create our own.
This was over 10 years ago. Since then, we have been operating Morocco Getaway across Morocco, working closely with the local people and smaller organisations to help grow tourism in our country and to grow our own business. Not only have we helped people explore our country, but we have worked with photographers and cinematographers looking to use Morocco in their creations, such as Gladiator, Black Hawk Down and Inception. Despite our humble beginnings, we believe Morocco Getaway is helping to open Morocco to the world through our first-hand experience and deep knowledge of everything this country has to offer.
Our Vision
Our vision is to bring Morocco to the forefront of international tourism – to show the world how beautiful, how varied and how exciting our country is. We want to do this through providing the easiest and most valuable journeys throughout this country, allowing people to see the parts and the cultures of Morocco that they want at prices they can afford. Nothing is too much for Morocco Getaway– we will go to every length to provide the perfect holiday for guests to our country.
Through doing this, we want to economically stimulate our country, allowing it to develop and to thrive, and to bring happiness to the people who have so often been abused by large tourism companies. We want to build small business, promote charity and philanthropy and empower the people who work for us to build the Morocco they have desired. Most of all, we want you to be a part of this journey with us.
Our Belief
We belief in the sustainable, fair and economically responsible operation of tourism. Our belief lies at the core of what drove us to create this company – Morocco is an incredibly beautiful and rich cultured county, and we need to protect it. We need to empower it’s communities and it’s people, and we need to respect their cultural differences. We need to preserve it’s natural wonders, from it’s lush valleys to it’s highest mountains to the monkeys that live in it’s forests.
We operate our company through the people of Morocco – we employ them, we empower them, we donate to them and we respect them. Through doing this, we are able to use their knowledge, their skills and their wisdom to provide the most incredible tours throughout the country, taking people further and higher and educating them more than anyone.
