This tour will take you through some of Morocco’s most incredible locations, but also through it’s beautiful cities with the sole purpose of experiencing the varying flavors and tastes that they have to offer. You will be able to visit the Hassan II Mosque and the Residence of the King before your first visit to a local restaurant for dinner, as well as travelling through the Imperial city of Meknes and small town of Fes before your first cooking class. You will also have the opportunity to explore the King’s Palace, the tanners and the potteries of Fes before departing for Marrakech. Along this journey you will experience some incredible Moroccan landscapes and sights, travelling through the High Atlas Mountain Region before arriving for your night of traditional entertainment with story tellers and performers. This will provide you will a great insight into how Moroccan food contributes to it’s culture, with barbecue dinners served being at the centre of the celebration. While in Marrakech, you will also visit the Palace of Bahia, the Saadian Tombs and the Koutoubia Mosque before visiting the local market and preparing for dinner.
You will also have the opportunity to learn to cook from the Berbers, visiting a small village outside of Marrakech where you will be baking bread in a clay oven, cooking tagine over a charcoal fire and brewing traditional mint tea. The knowledge and practice of the Berbers will inspire you and share insight that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. You will visit Essaouira also, famous for it’s fresh seafood produce and incredible idyllic beaches. Here, you will have another cooking class where you’ll be preparing your own Moroccan meal with this famed produce before departing for Casablanca, visiting the city of El Oualidia and El Jadida along the way. In almost all of the cities you travel through, you will have the opportunity to explore the local markets, which are the base of all Moroccan cooking. These markets will inspire you and allow you to taste, smell and see what Moroccan food is all about, making it an incredible opportunity for those looking to add a little extra to their cooking.
