What to Expect
On this tour you will be assisted by both a guide and mules, lending the experience an authentic Moroccan flavour. You will begin at Ait Bougmez at an altitude of 1900m and shortly begin walking for between five and six hours each day. The terrain, whilst mountainous, is not too challenging and the inexperienced are welcome to take part in this trek. The altitude can reach up to 3250m at certain points of the circuit, but this is not an unsafe height and the air is quite breathable. You will eat a variety of local foods from the villages you pass, and accommodation will range from roads to traditional tents under the stars depending on the location of your group the end of the day. There are also many wonderful photographic opportunities throughout the trip, as the mountain offers incredible panoramic scenery and the villages are full of cultural wonders.
