Overview
The volcano, situated between the High Atlas Mountains and the Anti Atlas mountains, is one renowned for its beautiful scenery and views of the surrounding gorges and desert. This trek will take you through the cities before meeting your local, knowledgeable guides and mules, who will travel with you for the remainder of the journey, educating and assisting you along the way. A challenging climb, but a rewarding one, the Siroua Volcano Trek is an incredible sight, whose view stretches out across the desert on a clear day, great for outdoor enthusiasts and photographers looking to work for the perfect shot alike.

Trek Grade
Moderate – strenuous, boots required; you need to reasonably confident of your fitness, preferably having had some previous experience of trekking and changes in climate
It is recommended that you bring (depending upon season):Â good walking boots; sleeping bag (3 seasons); waterproofs and fleece/duvet jackets, hats, balaclavas or ear muffs; gloves; rambler or ski pole; personal toiletries; small First Aid kit, thermal underwear (Dec-May); day pack; filled water bottles; torch and batteries (LED head torches are excellent), penknife (remember not to pack in hand baggage for flight); towel, sunscreen, insect repellent, hygienic wipes, nibbles and/or dried fruit. Drinking chocolate if preferred to tea and coffee, camping mug (otherwise it is small Moroccan tea glasses for everything), energy sweets and toilet rolls could come in handy!

What to Expect
This trek is a thrilling one, wherein you will be transported to Tamalakoute, passing the High Atlas on the way, to begin your trip. You will be walking around 6 or 7 hours a day across the challenging Moroccan terrain supported by your local guide, with whom we are sure you will be good friends. You will pass through beautiful green valleys and climb steep peaks throughout the mountains, passing many small villages inhabited by locals, and will likely come across a nomad or two on your journey. This trek is four days long, and in the space of those days you will experience all of the vibrancy, the colour and culture that Morocco has to offer through it’s people and it’s wonderfully thrilling landscapes.
