Inspired greatly by local legends, the Festival is a celebration of romance, wherein over 40 couples come together as husband and wife. It features live Berber musical performances as well as incredible markets designed specifically for the festival, not to mention delicate cuisine from across the country that will excite your tastes and ignite a love for Moroccan food. Women from a plethora of villages across the country are made up in traditional dress at the festival, while the husbands search for the perfect match in the crowds. A colourful and exciting festival, it is perfect for those looking to explore Moroccan culture deeply and experience the traditional dress and music of the country.

What to Expect
After arriving in Marrakech, you will be driven across the Middle Atlas Mountain Region towards the city of Imilchil. You will have the evening to wonder at the remarkable costumes and sway to the music at the festival, taking part also in the craft and dress markets that will line the streets. We will take a guided hike through the circuit of Plateau des Lacs before returning to witness the closing ceremony of the festival the following day. From here, you will travel to Merzouga, passing Todra Gorge before arriving at the largest dunes in Morocco. You will spend the night in the centre of the desert and the following morning rise early to watch the sunrise before travelling to Ouarzazate via Alnif and Tazarine. From here you will then travel to Tardount through a range of breathtaking landscapes and then towards the Atlanic Coast for your stopover in Essaouira, a beautiful sea-side town renowned for it’s fresh produce and calming atmosphere, not to mention it’s picturesque beaches. Two days later you will begin your return trip towards Marrakech, passing through the High Atlas region before being given the afternoon to relax and explore the city.
